Borno Police Arrest Suspect Linked to Body Buried in Grave. The Borno State Police Command has revealed that it apprehended an individual connected to a body found buried in a shallow grave in the Jiddari-Polo area of Maiduguri, the state capital.

ASP Nahun Daso, spokesperson for the State Police Command, shared this information in a statement on Thursday in Maiduguri, stating that the arrest took place on March 25.

Daso explained that the decomposed body was discovered on March 11 after Umar Muhammed reported finding a grave, a digger, and two knives in his unfinished building.

“Upon receiving the report, detectives from GRA Police Station visited the scene and unearthed the body, which was then taken to State Specialist Hospital Maiduguri for autopsy,” Daso said.

“Then on March 25, police investigation led to the arrest of one Ibrahim Muhammed, who confessed to conspiring with his employer, one Usman (who is still at large), and Mustapha Modu, a laborer who dug the shallow grave where the body was buried.”

“He also confessed to receiving payment of N1,500 to carry out the task,” Daso added.

The spokesman assured that efforts are underway to apprehend the other suspects involved.
