Hardship: Why Ogun State Plans to Offer Rice at 50% Discount. Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, announced plans to sell rice at half price to ease financial strain on residents amidst tough economic times. The initiative will start with public servants, aiming to restore their purchasing power.

During a special event for the League of Imams and Alfas, Governor Abiodun explained that a committee has formed to oversee the fair distribution of the discounted rice. Additionally, the government will provide free rice to the less privileged, including the poor, elderly, and vulnerable individuals.

The governor urged Muslims to maintain their spiritual practices beyond Ramadan and promised to construct a new secretariat for the League of Imams and Alfas. He also expressed optimism about economic improvements under President Tinubu’s leadership.

Tajudeen Adewunmi, Secretary of the League, praised Governor Abiodun’s efforts in empowering Muslim youths and described him as a compassionate leader.

Special prayers were offered for the upcoming 72nd birthday of President Tinubu, and Governor Abiodun received the title of Ambassador of Peace in Islam.
