Rema Claims Equal Status with Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy: Mavin Global Holdings’ rising star, Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, has stirred up controversy in the Nigerian music scene with his bold claim to be among the industry’s elite. The young artist recently released a track titled ‘Hehehe,’ in which he audaciously declared, “No more Big 3, there’s now a Big 4.”

This statement has ignited a fierce debate among fans and critics alike, as it challenges the long-standing hierarchy in Nigerian and Afrobeats music. For years, the triumvirate of Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido has reigned supreme, collectively known as the “Big 3” due to their global success and influence in the Afrobeats genre.

Rema, however, is not backing down from his assertion. In response to the backlash his tweet received, the ‘Calm Down’ hitmaker defended his stance, expressing that it’s disrespectful for anyone to suggest he hasn’t reached the same echelon as the established trio. The singer appears determined to carve out his place among Nigeria’s musical royalty, insisting that he has earned his spot in the upper echelons of Afrobeats.

This bold move by Rema has sparked discussions about the evolving landscape of Nigerian music and the criteria for determining an artist’s status in the industry. As the debate continues, music lovers are left to ponder whether Rema’s claim will reshape the perception of Nigeria’s musical hierarchy.
