Rivers Vigilante Member Kill by Cultists. Gunmen in Port Harcourt have fatally shot Mr. Uche Orukwo, a member of the Diobu Vigilante Group (DVG), at the Obidanso Waterfront in Mile 1 Diobu, Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The incident, which occurred on Saturday night, has caused fear and anxiety in the area, prompting the police to urge residents to remain calm.

Reports indicate that Orukwo was part of a security team that raided the waterfront to address the activities of cultists who were causing trouble in the area.

Acting on intelligence, the security team arrived at the waterfront around 9 p.m. on Saturday, where they encountered suspected cultists preparing for an attack on a rival group as part of an ongoing supremacy feud.

Upon seeing the security operatives, the cultists opened fire, resulting in the fatal shooting of Orukwo, a member of the vigilante group.

Meanwhile, Grace Iringe Koko, the Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, confirmed Orukwo’s death, stating that investigations are underway to apprehend those responsible for the crime.
